I’m a reader and a writer, and am working on becoming a published author one of these days. I’ve been writing since I was a kid, and always wanted to write full time. But a career in the finance industry kept me too busy for over 20 years, so I postponed my dream.

I’ve always been a fan of the mysterious, the unknown, the scary. And those are the books I tend to like the most, ones that trap you with the possibility that something really spectacular is going to happen – for good or bad – so you’d better stick with it until the mystery is solved. And of course a good book featuring the supernatural is always a gripper for me, because in spite of my skepticism “I want to believe”!! And I refuse to accept that garden-variety homo sapiens are the only ones on this planet!

Aside from reading like a fiend and writing my fingers to the bone, I’m an enthusiastic photographer (particularly animals and the natural world), a dog and cat lover and obliging house-sharer, and a fan of gardening. I also love to cook – and eat! – which drives my love/hate relationship with exercise and the gym.

I started this blog when I got a little frustrated looking for the type of books I was interested in reading. Right now I’m on this big kick for series books in the thriller (paranormal and not) and mystery genres. It started when I read the first Sookie Stackhouse books, written by the awesome Charlaine Harris. As I caught up to the latest published book in the series, I started scrambling around for my next fix, and stumbled on J.R. Ward’s Dark Brotherhood series. I was well and truly hooked on this escapist fantasy stuff, even though I’m a voracious reader and read just about anything.

I’d love to hear from readers of my blog and find out what flops your mop, and what puts you off.  I like strong characters, especially the females in the story, and I get frustrated with the Romance genre because I think most of the heroines are dishrags who deserve to serve in bondage to some jerk chauvinistic and egocentric guy! I don’t care how big the guy’s johnson is either.  So hope you enjoy my posts, and my writings when I finally get them up on the site!
